TOKYO

Not just
Land of the Rising Sun, but also, a land of rising talents, creative expression, sexual disorientation, and not forgetting, THE land of instant-anything and vending machines - cigarettes, chicken katsu, even shoes !

This time, having worked the night through to Narita, losing sleep and drained of energy, I fought fatigue and boarded the next train to Tokyo as soon as I arrived.

First stop ? The Calm + Punk Gallery, Roppongi.

" Fuck Forever "

A solo exhibition by Tokyo-based Wataru Komachi, best known for his collage techniques and sculpture work, "Fuck Forever" simply portrays his take on our world today.

Though the installations were mostly deliberate and in-your face, a thing which not many can accept, Komachi exuded valor in voicing what we fear to speak of - this tainted, deteriorating society filled with hatred, self-love, and treachery, has nowhere to go but down. Hence, quoting the theme, "a chaotic world".

brutally honest.

Next ? Gluttony Japanese-style and vintage bins galore. Go Go Go Tow-Kee-Yo !

exhaustingly gratifying.

kitty in the city

! meowr !

Conversations, conversations and more conversations over coffee and cigarettes, with Little Willie Littlefield playing almost 24 hours a day, we spent most of the weekend just talking - loves, lusts, disgusts... hopes, dreams, the future.
Though time was scarce and rest was minimal (two hours in two days), kitty did some things touristy (we have to blend into the norm sometimes), and yes, we ate and par-tayed our hearts out.
Well, at least I did.

Next meeting ?

'V' goes to Koo-wala Lompour !

We don't need an ocean of 'friends' to validate our existence in society.
But just one, maybe two whom we know deep down, will catch us when we fall.
